WISPS Online Postgraduate Research Day 2027

Postgraduate

Research
Networking

WISPS is pleased to announce its proposed Online Postgraduate Day, a new initiative designed to bring together postgraduate researchers in Hispanic and Lusophone Studies across Great Britain and Ireland.

Coordinated by Ariana, the event aims to create an annual forum where postgraduate members can share their research, exchange ideas, build connections and discuss the opportunities and challenges of postgraduate academic life.

Research Presentations

Participants will be invited to present their research in short presentations of up to 10 minutes, followed by opportunities for discussion and questions. The event will provide a supportive and welcoming environment in which postgraduate researchers can showcase their work, receive feedback and engage with fellow researchers.

Professional Development Workshops

The programme is also expected to include two workshops addressing topics of particular relevance to postgraduate researchers, potentially including:

  • Academic publishing and preparing research for publication

  • Research funding opportunities, including Leverhulme applications

  • Preparing for academic interviews and careers in academia

Celebrating Postgraduate Research

WISPS aims to highlight participating researchers and their work through its website and social media channels, helping to increase the visibility of emerging scholarship in Hispanic and Lusophone Studies.

A €50 prize for the best presentation is also under consideration.

Further Information

The event is planned for May 2027, with the exact date, programme and registration details to be confirmed.
