WISPS Funding and Support
Funding and Support for WISPS Members
Through research funding, the WISPS Mentoring Scheme and professional development initiatives, WISPS aims to encourage academic exchange, support research projects and help members develop their careers.
Our support initiatives include the Cara Levey Academic Enhancement Award, which provides financial assistance for academic projects; the WISPS Mentoring Scheme, which connects researchers with experienced colleagues and offers guidance on academic and professional development; and the AHGBI–WISPS Dorothy Sherman-Severin Research Fellowship, which supports early-career researchers in Hispanic and Lusophone Studies.
Applicants must be WISPS members to be eligible for these awards. We encourage prospective applicants to submit their membership application before applying for funding. Applications may be considered while membership is being processed; however, funding can only be awarded once membership has been confirmed.
